November General Meeting

Our speakers for the November general meeting were representatives from Hannah’s House, Killingsworth Inc, Ronald McDonald House, and Palmetto Richland NICU. These groups are recipients of the comfort quilts and pillowcases we make.  Things the ladies shared gave a good feeling and appreciation for what our guild shares with them.

November begins our new UFO challenge.  Competed challenge items and regular projects were shown during Show and Tell. Here are a few photos.

This is Carol's finished Day Bee Mystery quilt.
Marilyn completed this UFO kaleidoscope quilt.
 Jane made this cat wall-hanging.
Sandra entered this in the Fine Arts for the SC State Fair and also the one you can see a piece on the table.
Teresa finished this landscape from a class.
This was Teresa's quilt for the long-arm quilt group challenge. She did a lot of continuous line drawings from Laura Fritz for the quilting.
Anne did fabulous custom quilting on this donation for Quilts of Valor.

Day Bee this month was hosted by Jean at her townhome in Irmo.
Charlotte was knitting a baby cap, while Bev and Dorothy worked on hexies.

Carol showed off her mystery quilt...all finished.  Beautiful job, Carol!

Jane also brought a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt top that someone had given her.  The hexagons were made using a poly blend and had a delightful feel to it.  Jean gave a suggestion on how to finish by showing one of her hexie quilts.

A good time was had by all as we enjoyed yummy apple cake and were introduced to Bonney's young grandson.
