December Schedule Slim

We celebrated the holiday season a week early for the general meeting with a potluck brunch of holiday treats and gift exchange.  We enjoyed fellowship and some Show and Tell; however, most did not come to the side for photos of their projects.  I have given up trying to take photos while they are talking and moving so I only have 2 photos to share.   This is Clara's canning quilt.  Now I believe she is collecting candy fabric for another jar quilt.

This is my lone star quilt.  I really enjoyed the quilting of a free-formed feather filler I learned from Angela Walters.  You can check out her photo tutorial at .

Comfort Quilts Sew Day or Quilt Mavens will not meet this month.

I hope you all enjoy a safe holiday and Merry Christmas!

Bonnie’s Celtic Solstice Mystery

I have been a faithful Bonnie Hunter follower and with her recent visit to our guild, I was motivated to try her new mystery quilt.  The new clues are introduced on Friday and now is step 2 so it is not too late to start if you want to jump in.  Check it out here.  If you are too busy at the holiday time, you can download the pdf file for later.

Step 2 has lots of  2” units which are not in my stash so I had a lot of cutting to do with still more to go.  This step was pretty time consuming for me with the additional time to mark the diagonal line on each of 400  2” squares ( 200 neutral and 200 yellow) and I need the line.  I have only completed a couple of dozen so far but I’ve got the rest of the week before the next clue.

This was my step 1.

Who's up for a mystery?  I would love to see the results from a group from our guild.
