January General Meeting

At the January general meeting we listened to a presentation by Sandy Davis and learned some ideas for organizing our home and sewing space.  One important tip is that every thing does not need to be organized at once.  It can be accomplished an area at a time so maybe I can do it.  The best idea I saw was a system to “file” t-shirts or fabrics in your stash so that you can easily see what you have and pull one out.

We had a great number of members participating in show and tell.

Carol finished up a wedding gift with lots of quilting and bling.
 Cindy showed this table topper.
 Dorothy showed this tree shirt.

This is Sandra's interpretation of a Lone Star quilt.
 Linda shared this BOM quilt.
Bonney finished this quilt for the VA Hospice unit.
Jean made this "disappearing 4 patch" for a sick friend.

Martha shared her very first quilt made a recently.
New member Sue shared this lovely paper-pieced project.
After Allie donated a quilt like this one, she had to make another for herself.
Annette won a blue ribbon at the State Fair on this large quilt all hand quilted.
Bonney made this for a gift.

I showed off this cute bunny wall-hanging that I adopted to finish ...
and this quilt made of orphan blocks and scraps.

Teresa shared a couple of quilt samples to show members what we will be making at our March 18th After-after "Jelly Roll Race".  It should be fun.  Get your 40 WOF  2 1/2" strips and join the fun.

January Day Bee

Day Bee met this morning with Charlotte. We always enjoy seeing her miniatures.  She said she had not made any recently because she has been busy knitting as she was today.
Many others worked on their handwork project while we enjoyed refreshments brought by Jane.
Bev was working on a hexie quilt made of all rose fabrics.  She had a beautiful selection.

Jean was finishing the binding on a quilt for a friend.  It was all fall colored batiks.

Charlene was doing hand embroidery.

February's Day Bee will meet at Adele's in town home. Hope to see many of you then as well as next Tuesday for the general meeting.
