Kimberly Einmo Workshop

We had a full class for Kimberly's Lone Starburst workshop. We learned how to cut jelly roll strips accurately on the diagonal and piece this quilt using no set in seams.

Here Kimberly plays with the layout of one of the students projects.

Kimberly also took the time to sign books for us. Her cheerful and generous demeanor was a real treat and her good humor was definitely infectious. I do think that the chocolate had something to do with it though : )

And here we all are showing off our handiwork. Hopefully we'll soon have some completed quilts to show off here on the blog. Stay tuned!

March Show and Tell

It was nice this month to have a large turnout for show and tell so we could impress our special guest, Kimberly Einmo. I believe that she enjoyed seeing all the talent that our guild has to show. Bonnie started us off with this batik lap quilt.

Jan shared this beautiful star quilt which is one of my favorite patterns. She did a lovely job on it.

These two scrap quilts were made by Henrietta with a little help from her granddaughter. She had fun finding the part that her granddaughter worked on.

Jolene shared a funny story about her choice of pigs in her quilt, and also shared a small quilt with A Soldier's Creed on it.

Sandra had some hand stitched wool pieces finished from our workshop last month.

Judee turned a simple nine patch into a more flower looking block in these two quilts.

Kitty liked this pattern so much that she also made it twice. They have a very modern flair to them.

Anita has been making baby quilts. The second picture shows her gifts for some triplets (with a spare too!). She just couldn't stop!

And of course our prolific Sue always has a beautiful quilt to share with us. Way to go Sue! Thanks to everyone for all the sharing.

Here are a few pictures from Kimberly's presentation to the guild. The last picture is the quilt from the workshop that she gave the next day.
