September Show and Tell

Septembers' Show and Tell was a short but sweet one. Judy started us off with this pretty blue quilt.

Nancy shared this bright lap quilt.

Elizabeth had a productive month with two kids quilts as well as a large one.

JoAnn has finished this beautiful little art quilt.

My camera didn't really capture the great colors in this quilt by Sue A. The lime green really popped.

And Sue S. brought up the rear with these two little sweethearts.

Thanks ladies for sharing all that great talent!

September General Meeting

For September we had Karen Kirkland, new QSC president, as our guest. She presented the QSC challenge quilts, Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places. Included in the presentation were quilts from two of our own members.

                        Karen Kirkland
                                                                                                    Sandra's entry
                                          Lynne's entry

In addition, our member Zohra gave the group a brief presentation on the subject of henna. She explained when henna is used, types of henna and shared some beautiful henna designs.

News From the Day Bee and Knight Bee

The Day Bee has been busy this summer, meeting in members' homes and enjoying each other's company. Here are some of the projects we've been working on.

Jan has made a dress for her granddaughter while Sue is embroidering a tiny block.

Our knitters, Charlotte and Jane kept busy with their projects.

Lynne was hand finishing the binding on one of her wonderful paper pieced creations and Bev sewed a label on this hexagon quilt that she's giving a good friend.

And finally here are our english paper piecers. Bonnie is working on some hexagons while Dorothy has been having fun fussy cutting her pieces for a Lucy Boston quilt.

Meanwhile at the Knight Bee, Liz shared two quilts that she has recently finished. Very nice job Liz.

Debbie Clark Will Visit GCQ in November

Since Debbie Clark will be coming to GCQ in November for a program and workshop, I thought you might enjoy a link to her blog:  http://stitchintherapy.blogspot.com
She has tons of ideas and tutorials on lots of interesting topics and just loves to share it all. She also has many pictures of her own quilts to enjoy.
