Lynne’s monthly challenge was to make a bag. About a dozen members participated and there
was a wide variety - from a faux animal skin handbag to the small 3 pocket bag.
Clara shared a small duffle and matching handbag.
Marlene shared a colorful tote.
Following are a few of the projects shared at the August
general meeting.
This is Sandra’s finished dragon. Some of us saw her stuffing the wings at Day Bee.
Jean adapted a pattern of Judy Lilly’s for this quilted
wall-hanging.
Anita made this wall-hanging for a Maine contest with a
potato theme. Notice the caterpillar made of beads.
Many members made red, white and blue 4 patches that were
used to create the blocks for this comfort quilt which will be donated to the
local VA hospice unit.
This quilt was made by the mother of a member.
Before presenting the program on how to critique art quilts, Paula Brown from Studio Art Quilt Associates shared a couple of her art quilts.
The first used several dye techniques
and the second was made of old ties.
