The September Day Bee was hosted by Lynne. We had a large group who enjoyed visiting
and sharing. Guest Judy is making a scrappy version of a quilt from Quilter’s
World magazine.
Deb was making a wool needle case to be donated for the
guild auction.
Lynne showed this cute holiday project of paper-pieced
blocks.
She also showed this princess quilt in progress to get
suggestions for the border.
Lynne had downloaded most of the paper-piecing patterns free
from the Fandom website:
Elizabeth shared a lap quilt in progress to show how she begins trapunto work.
She also showed a small sample pine burr block.
You can find more information on Pine Burr quilt blocks: http://www.archives.state.al.us/emblems/st_quilt.html
Here is a good link to see an antique Pine Burr quilt :
or check out this modern version made by Nifty Quilts
Sandra was handstitching to embellish a crazy quilt block.
October Day Bee will be hosted by Deb. See you next month.
