Comfort Quilts

The next Comfort Quilts Sew Day will be Tuesday, May  28^th  at 9:30 AM in a small Sunday School room.

In April we got a lot accomplished. Here are some ladies doing great work.

Mary recently  delivered 52 Pillow Cases and

                                           20 knitted hats,

 For May Sew Day we will have salad, so bring something to go with it and join us.

Comfort Quilts Sew Day

    The 4th Tuesday of each months is GCQs Comfort Quilts Sew Day.  This month a lot was accomplished by the hard working group of ladies plus some who work behind the scene to piece tops.  Labels were sewn onto a pile of adult and children's finished quilts - 6 children and 7 adult quilts.

Eighteen small quilts for the NICU were also finished.

A couple of ladies worked to cut batting and ready backing for a group of tops.

A couple of ladies worked on cutting fabric for children's kits.

After working, many of the group shared lunch.  This month Joan made lasagna for the main dish and others brought side items.
Thanks to all the ladies who piece or quilt at home and to those who come to work with the group.

Sew Day for Comfort Quilts Tuesday

   GCQ will have Sew Day for Comfort Quilts Tuesday, Nov. 27th meeting at 9:30 AM in the Sunday School room.  Yesterday I free-motion quilted an adult quilt and today I sewed on the binding so it is ready to turn in.

 If you can't come to work with us,  I hope you find some time to sew at home.

Comfort Quilts Report

In October Mary made the last drop off of quilts.  She delivered:
                       9 quilts for PICU,
                      17 for NICU, 
                      10 for Oncology, 
                        8 for Killingsworth and 
                       10 pillowcases for the Ronald McDonald House

For the year our guild made and delivered a total of

Comfort Quilts Sew Day

    A lot was accomplished today for sew day.  About 7 tops that had been finished needed backing.  Backing were pieced. Here Clara is pressing one.

 Bonney had quilted a couple of adult quilts and here she is sewing on binding.  

Linda made a pile of pillowcases for Ronald McDonald House.

 All are welcome to come help or piece kits at home.
